Silvertech Completes Major Upgrade to Britannia Control and Safety Systems

SILVERTECH LIMITED, the leading independent Control and Safety Systems Engineering company, has successfully completed a major project to upgrade the HMI System on the Britannia Field Control and Safety Systems.

The HMI System provides a unified Operator Interface to the platform control and safety systems on the installation.

The engineering work for the project was completed and tested at Silvertech’s Horsham, West Sussex facility and involved significant input from BOL operating staff. Installation and final tie-in of the new system was completed during the recent offshore shutdown period at Britannia supported by Silvertech's Aberdeen Engineering Facility.

Commenting on the successful project Silvertech’s Operations Director Joe Quinn said, “It is a testament to the project team and Britannia that a major upgrade to such a safety critical system as this has been completed safely and successfully within a limited time window.
