Silvertech Awarded Contract for Britannia Platform Expansion
SILVERTECH LIMITED, the leading independent Control and Safety Systems Engineering company, have been awarded a major contract for the supply of systems and services for the Britannia Platform Control System expansion project.
The Britannia Satellites [BritSats] expansion project will integrate five new sub-sea tie-backs to the existing Britannia Platform Control System [PCS]. This integration requires new systems for process control, process shutdown, fire & gas and a new safety critical system. These functions will be provided by a combination of additional systems located in the new Bridge Linked Platform [BLP] and modifications to existing systems located on the Britannia platform.
The Bridge Linked Platform will be supplied with instrument and control systems compatible with the existing Britannia systems. The existing and new systems will be integrated to provide a single operator interface through the existing Britannia HMI, which was recently upgraded by Silvertech.
The contract, which includes integration testing with package vendors systems and on-shore and off-shore commissioning, is scheduled for completion in 2006.
The engineering, system staging and testing for the project will be completed at Silvertech’s facility in Horsham, West Sussex .
Commenting on the award of this important contract Silvertech’s Operations Director Joe Quinn said, “This new contract represents further growth in the successful relationship between Silvertech and Britannia Operator Ltd and follows the recent successes of the PCS HMI upgrade and Healthcare contract extension”.
Silvertech is proud to be a part of the continuing development of Britannia.
